Our Mission Unchanged:
An Update on Efforts to Save St. Margaret's
Dear Fellow St. Margaret's Alumnae and Supporters,
The outpouring of support from Alumnae and friends at the successful July 16th Hearing created significant momentum for our plaintiffs to begin negotiations with Church Schools. This, combined with a multi-million dollar offer from a generous supporter of the School, provided hope to commence the fall session at St.Margaret's.
Unfortunately, after three weeks of intensive negotiations, the offer was rejected by CSDV. Consequently, hopeful parents had no alternative but to seek other schools for their daughters to attend the fall, 2025-26 session. This was a disappointment, but in no way the end of our efforts to save St. Margaret's.
Our attorneys and plaintiffs continue negotiations with CSDV with the goal of reopening school in January, 2026. The goalpost has been moved, but the mission remains unchanged: to restore girls' education to this beautiful Episcopal school and continue its legacy, traditions, and grace.
Your support has been invaluable then and moving forward. Keep St. Margaret's in your thoughts and prayers so that as the negotiations move forward, we ultimately win the fight to keep her doors open.
Let Us Stand as One for SOS,
Sandra S. Mitchell
